Blades & Biscuits is a hockey game made by Redth (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the game on every platform it runs on, and this website. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
The short version: you don't need an account to play. We collect anonymous information about how the game is used, so we can make it better, and to connect online games. We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
What the game collects
Analytics
The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how it's played: which modes people pick, how long games last, and what device and operating system it runs on. This information is tied to a random identifier for your copy of the game, not to your name or email address. Google processes it for us under its Firebase privacy terms.
Online play
To play online, the game signs in to Unity Gaming Services anonymously. This creates a random player ID, with no name, email or password. When you host or join a game with a join code, Unity's Relay service passes game traffic between players, which means it handles your IP address while you play. Unity processes this data for us under the Unity Privacy Policy.
Games on your local network find each other directly and never leave that network.
What stays on your device
Your settings, control profiles, rosters and saved leagues are stored on your device only. If you add a roster repository that needs a sign-in, its address and credentials are kept on your device and only ever sent to that repository's own server.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your name, email address, contacts, location or photos.
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use your data for advertising.
Children
Blades & Biscuits is suitable for all ages, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children. The analytics described above are anonymous. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example, in a support email), contact us and we'll delete it.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. If you play the trailer and it's hosted on YouTube, it loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, and YouTube's own policies apply to it from then on.
Your choices and rights
- You can play offline. Analytics are only sent when the device is online, and online play only signs in when you choose it.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to see, correct or delete data about you. Because the data we collect is anonymous, we may need your device's identifier to find it. Email us and we'll help.
How long we keep data
Analytics data is kept only for the retention period set in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically. Anonymous online player IDs are kept while they're in use. Support emails are kept for as long as we need them to help you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll mention it in the game's release notes.
